Smart Antennas Eliminate Guess Work
Audiovox is introducing the RCA ANT2000, a Smart Antenna featuring a bundled CEA 909 antenna interface module. The module, which installs between the antenna and an analog-to-digital converter box measures signal reception for every channel and selects the elements within the antenna that deliver the best picture. Smart Antenna circuitry eliminates typical multipath reception issues and optimizes signal strength and quality to reduce the microblock problems that can occur in an ATSC signal.
With a footprint of just 11.8 inches square and measuring just over an inch thick, the ANT2000 complements the thin styling of todays flat-panel TVs and is designed to rest on a stand or lie flat on a shelf.
In the premium Terk line, Audiovox is introducing the HDS01 Smart Antenna. This omni directional model is the perfect companion antenna to any ATSC converter box or tuner that features a CEA 909 antenna interface. The patented design with low-profile technology outperforms other indoor antennas by locating stations that most other antennas are not capable of reaching. The HDSA1 automatically fine tunes the station and adjusts the antenna gain control as needed to lock in the digital signal.
The versatile design enables the antenna to mount in a variety of orientations without signal loss. Typical mounting locations include ceilings, walls, or a bookshelf.
The step-up Terk HDSA02 is an indoor/outdoor Smart Antenna designed to mount almost anywhere including under eaves, on a roof, or in an attic. Weatherproofed to withstand the effects of moisture, heat, cold and humidity, the HDSA02 comes with all the mounting hardware required for an outside installation.
Circular in design, the HDSA02 measures 15.7 inches in diameter and 1.7 inches thick.
Rounding out the line is the RCA ANT1500, a flat multi-directional antenna whose patented dual-plane design provides consumers with more antenna in less space. Designed to be hung on the wall, rest on a stand or lie flat on a shelf, the 10.4-inch square, 0.78 inch-thin antenna virtually disappears in a room. The ANT1500s patented design consistently outperforms traditional antenna designs when receiving signals across the VHF and UHF bands.
